Correspondence from Vermont Historical Society: 6 Oct 1971: ...In regards to Simeon Walker, he is not listed in our graves registration or in the Vermont Revolutionary Rolls. However, there is a reference to him in People of Peacham, which states his baptism in Woodbury, Conn as Jan 11, 1756, but gives no record of his death.

He recieved an injury in the service. His injury was to his thigh from the
wind of a canon ball which produced a lameness that followed him as long as he lived.

Was a soldier in the Revoltionary war, and served in Fort Ticonderoga and
in the battle of White Plains and at the Burning of Norwalk, Conn.
He was one of the first settlers of Peacham, Vt., where they had to stand guard to prevent being kidnapped by tories after the tories were subdued. By clearing the timber he made a farm.
MILITARY SERVICE: Simeon was 78 years old when he was on the pension roll in
1830: Census he and Mary are enumerated with their son Abel
1840: Simeon is listed living with his son Abel according to the ages in that household
1840 Census of Veterans p. 63 lists Caledonia co. Peacham Township, Simeon Walker age 84 living with Abel Walker
1842: In 1842 Simeon makes a court appearance before the Justice of the Peace and gives him the power to act for him on his pension. The date of this is 7 Sep. On the 8th of September Joseph C. Fuller, attorney, acknowledges his affidavit. We do know that Simeon is alive on the 8th of September 1842, but that is the last payment he received on his pension. Therefore he must have died between Sep 8, 1842, and December when the next quarterly pension would be paid and he was not on it.
